Vancouver - The Vancouver Regional Construction Association (VRCA) is hosting its annual Construction Leadership Forum at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler on May 6 and 7.
The registration deadline for the conference is April 29. This year's conference will kick off with keynote speaker David Chilton, former "Dragon" on CBC TV's Dragons' Den and bestselling author of The Wealthy Barber.
Whether it's helping millions of Canadians achieve personal financial success or investing in low-fat cookbooks, Chilton has always had a knack for recognizing great ventures, a VRCA media statement reads.
Chilton's talk will illustrate how a healthy perspective can lead to positive results, using examples from business and behind-the-scenes stories from the show Dragons' Den.
Designed for middle managers, the VRCA conference will address current issues, trends, best practices and equip delegates with tools to become well-rounded, effective industry leaders, the release states.
In addition to Chilton, this year's program will include a variety of panel discussions, including advice from the newly-formed Lean Construction Institute-Canada (LCI-C) on how to start implementing lean principles into one's business.
Other sessions include How to be an Email Etiquette Ninja, Resolving the Inevitable Construction Dispute, Working Smart: Take Control of your Meetings and more.
Attendees can also take advantage of networking activities, including ATV tours, golf, mountain biking and a TreeTrek canopy walk.
Helen Goodland, a sustainability and innovation advisor to the BC Construction Association, will wrap up the final day talking about her involvement in the 2016 Construction Innovation Project.
