VIDEO: Alex Carrick at CanaData West
CMD chief economist Alex Carrick was one of the speakers at CanaData West, held recently at the Vancouver Convention Centre East.
Carrick explain how while Canada's economy is doing well compared to the rest of the globe, we as Canadians suffer from a form of "economic" complacency that may yet hold us back as global recovery continues. Carrick also said that Canada has access to vast resources and can spearhead major energy projects, but that the "window of opportunity" to take advantage of these projects is shrinking. He also stressed the importance of innovation to the Canadian economy, but added that innovation can be bought through experts and technology, or brought in through immigration and other means.
