President of the Independent Contractors and Businesses Association
Philip Hochstein is the President of the Independent Contractors and Businesses Association of British Columbia (IBCA).
The ICBA services and represents B.C.’s open shop construction sector that is responsible for 85 per cent of construction work in the province.
Philip chairs The Construction Industry’s Benefit Plan Board of Trustees and serves on the Board of Directors for the SHARE Family and Community Services Society and ICBA Benefit Services Ltd.
Philip is a former Chair of the Coalition of B.C. Businesses that represents more than 50,000 small and medium-sized businesses on labour and employment policy issues.
Philip earned a Masters Degree in Public Administration from the University of Victoria in 1984 and an Honours Degree in History from McGill University in Montreal.
Prior to joining the ICBA in 1986, Philip was Manager of Membership Services for the Mechanical Contractors Association of B.C. and also worked for the Canada Employment and Immigration Commission and the Provincial Ministry of Finance.
