Canadian Construction Association’s e-construction committee is undertaking a “benchmarking” survey attempting to grasp the extent to which information technology (IT) is used to advance industry productivity.

“We have the questionnaire pretty well ready to go,” he said. “It’s now a case of determining the best way (distribution method) to ensure an adequate response rate. We want to get a 15 to 20 per cent response,” said CCA committee secretary Doug Hotston.

The survey will query utilization of everything, from different types of software and computers to portals where drawings and the like are deposited. Results expected by fall.
