The consultation period for feedback to WorkSafeBC on proposed policy amendments for lung cancer in asbestos-exposed workers is open for discussion until Feb. 5,

WorkSafeBC has approved the release of a discussion paper with options for stakeholders.

At issue is whether the descriptions contained in Schedule B of the Workers Compensation Act relating to primary site lung cancer in asbestos-exposed workers are current and supportable based on the most current medical science.

Schedule B of the Workers Compensation Act outlines the medical details of workers developing cancer and how it relates to its cause.
