British Columbia construction magnate donates $22 million to Simon Fraser University

Ryan Beedie, president of the Beedie Group, has donated $22 million to the Simon Fraser University School of Business, which will be renamed the Beedie School of Business. Beedie's father Keith also contributed to the donation, the largest ever received by SFU.

Beedie is a former undergraduate of Simon Fraser University before moving on to an MBA from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia.

Ryan Beedie joined the Beedie Group in 1992, and the company has since grown to be the largest landlord of industrial space in British Columbia. The firm also has a presence in southern Alberta.
