Vancouver City Hall renovations
Vancouver city hall is getting a facelift, as the exterior is undergoing renovations to preserve the heritage building. Original construction on the iconic structure wrapped up in 1936.
The masonry restoration is being done by Gracom Masonry and JV. Olympic Projects Ltd. is doing the window rehabilitation and Vintage Woodworks Inc. is the contractor dealing with window repair. The project also includes several consultants: McGinn Engineering and Preservation Ltd. (masonry and window rehabilitation), McGrath Engineering Ltd. (window repair) and Aqua Coast Engineering Ltd. (building envelope). Funding for the project includes stimulus cash from Canada’s Economic Action Plan.
