Vancouver City Council is set to vote Tuesday, April 17 on a proposed 12-unit modular housing complex in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside made from shipping containers.

Vancouver City Council is set to vote Tuesday, April 17 on a proposed 12-unit modular housing complex in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside made from shipping containers.

A report going before council on the April 17th recommends $92,000 be approved towards the construction of the projects, located at Jackson Avenue and Alexander Street in Vancouver.

The development will be made up of two, three storey multiple dwelling buildings, with half of the 12 housing units to house marginalized women from the community.
