The Architectural Institute of British Columbia has announced the winners of the 2012 Architectural Awards.

The Architectural Institute of British Columbia has announced the winners of the 2012 Architectural Awards.

There were no winners this year for the prestigious Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia Award in Architecture - Medal, but Linear House from Patkau Architects Inc, the Oppenheimer Park Activity Centre by mcfarlane green biggar architecture + design, the Samuel Brighouse elementary School and the Van Dusen Botanical Garden Visitor Centre by Busby Perkins+Will Architects were all Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia Award in Architecture - Merit Level selections.

The Winnipeg Skating Shelters by Patkau Architects Inc. won the AIBC Special Jury Award, and Centre for Interactive Research on Sustainability (CIRS) by Busby Perkins+Will Architects won the AIBC Innovation Award. WMW Public Architecture + Communication Inc. won the AIBC Emerging Firm Award.

The winners were selected from 58 award nominations across four award categories.
