ATCO has launched ATCO Sustainable Communities Inc., a new company intended to provide both pre-fabricated buildings and community design services to indigenous communities and others located in remote areas of Canada.

ATCO has launched ATCO Sustainable Communities Inc., a new company intended to provide both pre-fabricated buildings and community design services to indigenous communities and others located in remote areas of Canada.

Building components are pre-engineered in controlled environments, and the company will also provide utility infrastructure such as water purification and distributed power generation facilities.

"We have been partnering with Indigenous communities since 1981, and we have more than 30 successful Aboriginal partnerships," said Nancy Southern, President & Chief Executive Officer, ATCO Group. "This company will harness our experience and expertise to help develop remote communities with facilities that contribute to a high quality of life and that reflect the community's cultural values."
