In this week's preview, we look at some of the stories we'll be covering in the Journal of Commerce for the week of August 25th, 2014.

A fixture of the Port Mann Bridge project is retiring. The massive yellow gantry crane that was used to lift over 1,000 concrete segments has come down and is being dismantled on the ground under the bridge.

Staff writer Russell Hixson has a story about the possible causes of the recent tailing pond breach at Mount Polley, and Russell has another story about the National Energy Board ruling that states Kinder Morgan does not need the permission of the City of Burnaby to survey land for a proposed pipeline expansion.

The Vancouver Regional Construction Association Silver Awards of Excellence have been announced, and we have a list of the winner. This week's video looks at Chinese students a the University of the Fraser Valley getting advanced training in wood building.
