VIDEO: City Fabric mixes art and architecture on the Burrard Street Bridge
Artist Rebecca Bayer and architect Matthew Soules have collaborated to create City Fabric, an art installation under the Burrard Street Bridge in Vancouver.
The installation uses common construction safety fabric but stretches it in new and interesting ways to create art in what Soules referred to as the traditional "dead zone" of structurally necessary but functionally uninteresting space where a bridge meets the ground.
Soules also pointed to the installation as a way of contrasting the everyday use of the fabric with the increasing pace of construction in large cities such as Vancouver.
