The Government of Canada has announced it will invest $11,395,372 over two years for the rehabilitation of Runway 04-22 and Taxiways A and B, and work on the subdrains at the Peace River Airport in northern Alberta.
Funding is provided by Transport Canada's Airports Capital Assistance Program (ACAP). Through that organization, the Peace River Airport has received over $15.5 million in funding for nine safety projects including the just announced initiative.
"The Peace River Airport is a vital gateway for residents, businesses, trade and tourism in northern Alberta. This investment will enhance the safety and efficiency of the air service, while contributing to the economic and social well-being of the local communities in the region," Peace River MP Chris Warkentin said.
