The City of Prince George, British Columbia has awarded a $22 million contract for a new RCMP detachment to Kelowna-based Maple Reinders, which delivered the lowest of seven bids for the project.

The City of Prince George, British Columbia has awarded a $22 million contract for a new RCMP detachment to Kelowna-based Maple Reinders, which delivered the lowest of seven bids for the project.

The 64,000 square foot two-storey facility will boast sustainable features such as a solar air heating wall, a solar domestic hot water system and exterior envelope insulation, as well as the extensive use of natural light.

Maple Reinders previously completed an RCMP detachment in Penticton, B.C. Construction could start as early as next month.
