REGINA - While the old Mosaic Stadium will soon be demolished, it won't be forgotten.
Mosaic stadium items to be auctioned before demolition

The City of Regina has partnered with McDougall Auctions Ltd. to dispose of a wide range of assets from signs and seatbacks to generators and field lighting and even the kitchen sink.

Items are being catalogued and will be for sale beginning July 5.

The auction will be part of the first phase of the stadium's decommissioning, which involves clearing out items of interest and reducing the amount of material that will need to be disposed.

Visitors to the stadium will see fencing in place to secure the site as crews remove the seating in the north and south end zones that will be dispersed to other communities as part of the Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club Grey Cup Legacy Project.

This spring, nearly 400 hours of community programming have continued at the historic stadium. After the July 1 opening of new Mosaic Stadium, all programming will be transitioned to the new stadium.

The decommissioning process can then begin, with demolition occurring at a later date.

More information on changes to the stadium will be available when a contract for demolition is awarded in the coming months, explains a release.
