Ziad Shawwash holds a BC Hydro assistant professorship in hydropower engineering at the University of British Columbia, and was one of the engineers who modeled the effects of the Site C project on the Peace River in northeastern British Columbia.

Shawwash spoke to the Journal of Commerce about the environmental challenges associated with a project on the scale of Site C, as well as the impacts of the dam and associated facilities once it goes online.

Shawwash also spoke about the logistical challenges of building a large project, including the need for project management to coordinate all the different participants in the construction process.
