Branch supports APEGBC Foundation

APEGBC’s Sea to Sky Branch has donated $3,000 to the APEGBC Foundation to fund its scholarships.

The APEGBC Foundation promotes education in engineering and geoscience by granting university entrance scholarships, college transfer scholarships, undergraduate engineering and geoscience scholarships, and student membership awards.

Mohammad Afsar, P.Eng., Branch Chair, said “Offering scholarships is one way to promote engineering and geoscience education to bright young minds who, in turn, make contributions as professional engineers and geoscientists for the betterment of society”.

Thanks to the generosity of members, organizations and groups like the Sea to Sky Branch, the Foundation has awarded over $350,000 in undergraduate grants and scholarships since its inception in 1994. During 2005/2006 member donations totalled just over $41,000, allowing the Foundation to grant 34 awards to aspiring engineers and geoscientists.
