Telus announces plan to build energy-efficient data centre in British Columbia

Telus announced plans to invest $500 million in B.C., which includes a new energy-efficient internet data centre.

The site hasn’t yet been selected, but several B.C. communities are currently being considered for the development. It will be at least twice as energy efficient as current facilities and will be built to LEED standards. However, no specific certification target was announced by the company. The announcement also included wireless and wired broadband infrastructure initiatives.
