Reed Construction Data Canada Still Growing Despite a Slow-Down in the Print World
Toronto, ON (July 27, 2009) - Reed Construction Data’s continued success in publishing was recently profiled on MastheadOnline, the number one web site for the publishing industry. Despite the rarity of paid circulation in the business-to-business world, many publications are starting to look at other revenue options and Reed’s success is notable.
With a steady stream of negative publicity about the future of the publishing world, MastheadOnline was intrigued by Reed Construction Data’s positive story. Highlighting the successes of both Daily Commercial News, herein DCN, and Journal of Commerce, herein The Journal, Sonia Kalra, Circulation and Marketing Manager of Reed Construction Data Canada, sat down for an interview with Lora Grady.
Reed Construction Data has been the publisher of both of these highly respected construction industry publications for almost 100 years. As a leader in the construction industry and a relied upon resource for project leads and industry news, professionals continue turn to DCN and The Journal, even in difficult economic times. With online growth exceeding 200 per cent year-over-year and the websites hosting seven million hits per month, both DCN and The Journal, have seen the benefit of increased exposure. Both newspapers boast increases in paid subscriptions amounting to 14 per cent growth for The Journal and 3 per cent for DCN.
“Reed is honoured that the industry has stepped up and taken notice of our growth and stability in the midst of difficult economic conditions,” states Mark Casaletto, Vice President and General Manager of Reed Construction Data Canada. “With all media, especially b-to-b businesses experiencing declines across the board - most notably with paid circulation and display - we are proud to say that our business remains stable, on track and growing.”
