Proposed Plaza Redevelopment

JAMES KM CHENG ARCHITECTS INC.

A massive redevelopment plan has been proposed for the Plaza of Nations along False Creek in Downtown Vancouver, B.C.

While still in the preliminary design stages, the proposal calls for five separate structures, including a community centre with hockey/skating rink for use by the Vancouver Canucks and the public, a sports science and medical centre, and a daycare.

The residential complex would include 1,500-1,700 units. Two 30 storey towers would be connected with a five-storey skybridge. The project would seek LEED Gold certification.

Existing buildings on site would be demolished, including the Plaza of Nations building, two night clubs and the Edgewater Casino.
