Centre of Power

SHANNON MONEO

Fortis B.C.'s new regional headquarters in Langford, near Victoria, will welcome 57 staff in October.

The $5.7 million project includes a 12,000-square-foot, two-storey office building, a 10,000-square-foot warehouse and a shop area, all sitting on 3.6 acres.

Work started in October 2011 and remains on schedule.

Designed for LEED certification, the building uses renewable energy for heating and cooling, a closed-loop geo-exchange system and a solar-powered water-heating system.

Kinetic Construction is the lead contractor and design was done by CEI Architecture.
