Hospital replacement RFQ issued

The Queen Charlotte/Haida Gwaii Hospital Replacement project has released a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to design and build a new hospital in the Village of Queen Charlotte in B.C.

The new hospital will cost an estimated $50 million and will feature eight acute-care beds, plus one labour, delivery and recovery suite, as well as a reconfigured hospital layout for acute and emergency service.

Northern Health will choose a preferred proponent and award a contract in spring 2013, with design-build activities commencing immediately afterward. Completion is expected by the summer of 2015.
