Surrey City Hall takes shape

A new city hall and civic plaza is taking shape in Surrey, B.C. PCL Constructors Westcoast Inc. is the construction manager and Pivotal Projects Inc. is the project manager.
The hall will reach six storeys above grade and three below. The first phase of the project also includes a glass atrium that connects the east and west portions of the building.
The community plaza will be able to accommodate up to 5,000 people for public events. The architects are Kasian Architecture and Moriyama & Teshima Planners.
Consultants include Aplin & Martin Consultants (civil), Read Jones Christoffersen (structural), Gage-Babcock & Associates Ltd. (code) and MCW Consultants Ltd. (mechanical and electrical).
