Calgary looks for proposals for two rec centres

The City of Calgary has issued a Request for Proposals (RFPs) for two new recreational centres.

Companies, who would like to work on the design, procurement and construction of the two centres are invited to submit proposals.

The recreation centre in Seton will contain a 52-metre, 10-lane competition swimming pool, two ice rinks, three gymnasiums and a fitness centre, as well as other amenities.

The Great Plains recreation centre will have a competitive tournament facility, as well as two standard ice rinks and a fitness area.

Construction of the Seton Centre is estimated to begin in March 2015 and conclude December 2017.

The Great Plains Centre will begin December 2012 and conclude April 2015.
