Bridge delays

Construction of a new bridge on Saskatoon's Circle Drive is well behind schedule, meaning the span may not open this fall as scheduled.

City officials say wet weather and ground conditions this spring have significantly set back construction of the new South Bridge’s connecting roadways. The $300 million bridge was scheduled to open by the end of September. Under the city’s agreement with the bridge builder, the contractor could face fines of $10,000 a day.
