Journal of Commerce Update for the week of November 5th, 2012

In this week's update, we look at some of the stories we'll be covering in the Journal of Commerce for the week of November 5th, 2012.

Former Saskatchewan Construction Association head Michael Fougere has been elected mayor of Regina, and has stated his top priorities will be to hold a housing summit to address affordable housing in the city and to proceed with an ambitious downtown revitalization project. One of the highlights of the project is a new 33,000 seat stadium.

Staff writer Richard Gilbert has a story about the Albert Construction Safety Association’s policy of not letting its members drive to worksites via Highway 63, known as the most dangerous stretch of road in Alberta.

Columnist and Journal of Commerce editorial advisory board member Grant McMillan has a column about knowing and exercising your right to appeal a worker claim, and make sure to check out our feature on Buildex Calgary, which takes place on November 6-7 at the BMO Centre on the Stampede grounds.

Also, don’t miss our weekly feature video highlighting the Wood Solutions Fair that was recently held in Vancouver.
