| Note: | Project is currently going through the Joint Review Panel (JRP) process and the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency review. Public hearings for the project are underway and will occur for the next 18 months in BC and Alberta. JRP has scheduled community hearings in Comox (BC), Port Hardy (BC), Calgary (AB) and Edmonton (AB) to conclude by early August 2012; and hearings in Vancouver (BC), Victoria (BC), and Kelowna (BC) will take place in January and February 2013. Final argument will take place in March and April 2013 and expected to be completed in April 2013. The JRP anticipates the environmental assessment report to be released in fall 2013 and its final decision on the project by the end of 2013. Detailed engineering and construction schedules to be confirmed upon final approval. Further update in summer 2013. The total Capital Cost of the project is around $4 Billion. | Project: | construction of a 1,170 Km oil pipeline from an inland terminal near Edmonton, AB & a marine terminal near Kitimat, BC; approx 500 Km of the pipeline is in AB & 670 Km in BC; the project will include an export oil sands product pipeline, an import condensate pipeline, terminal facilities, integrated marine infrastructure at tidewater (to accommodate loading/unloading of oil & condensate tankers) & marine transportation of oil. |
